PSYCHOLOGY

NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPTING NEW INDIVIDUAL THERAPY CLIENTS.

MY THERAPY APPROACH

Throughout my Masters in Clinical Psychology at Macquarie University and gaining endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist, I have experienced both private and public mental health settings, with a wide range of people and ages.

I have developed a special love for working with people who live life with “big feelings”, and use a variety of therapeutic modalities to help clients learn to accept, love and regulate their emotions.

I am passionate about working with the LGBTQIA+ community of all ages, particularly enjoy working with women and gender diverse folk, and I am a Neurodiversity Affirming practitioner, who is also Neurodivergent.

I have experience working with children and adolescence (and their families), and also working with adults. I use different modalities to suit each person, including CBT, DBT, ACT, Mindfulness, Self-compassion, EMDR/IFS/other trauma informed approaches, and Play Therapy.

I meet my clients where they are at with a warm, client-centred approach, and walk with them on their journey.

“I am not afraid of storms for I am learning how to sail my ship.”

WORKING WITH ALL AGES

Children

I love the silliness, joy and energy that children bring to therapy. I use art, music, play and plenty of fun to meet children at their level and help them feel comfortable being themselves. My approach is always grounded in evidence-based practice, but delivered in a way that feels meaningful, engaging and relevant to each individual child.

Teens

I aim to create a safe and accepting space where teens can feel genuinely heard and know that their feelings and experiences are valid. I support young people to better understand themselves, navigate the challenges that come with this stage of life, and build stronger communication and connection with the important people around them.

Adults

I work collaboratively with adults to find an approach to therapy that feels right for them. I draw from a range of evidence-based therapeutic modalities, tailoring therapy to the individual rather than expecting the individual to fit a particular approach. My goal is to create a warm, open space where you can better understand yourself and work towards what matters to you.

Families

I offer family therapy on a case-by-case basis, working with families to better understand one another, strengthen communication and navigate challenges together.

GROUPS

I love the connection and sense of belonging that can happen when people come together and realise they’re not alone in their experiences. I offer a range of group programs for children, teens and adults, creating supportive and engaging spaces to connect, learn and grow alongside others.

You can explore my current and upcoming programs on the Groups page.

HOW I CAN SUPPORT YOU

I have experience providing therapy across a broad range of presentations and experiences, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, OCD, ADHD, Autism, anger, stress and family conflict, among others.

Whatever brings you to therapy, you can expect to be met with warmth, openness and curiosity. I want therapy to be a space where you feel safe to be yourself, better understand your experiences, and heal and grow in the way that feels right for you.

THE PROCESS

Please note: My therapy waitlist is currently closed, and I’m not accepting new enquiries at this time.

STEP ONE

Click contact me at the top of the page and send me a message. Let me know what you’re looking for, whether you’re enquiring for yourself or someone else, if you have a Mental Health Care Plan, and a little bit about you.

Just keep the personal details brief at this stage, the contact form isn’t encrypted, so I can’t guarantee the confidentiality of information submitted through the website.

STEP TWO

I’ll get in touch to respond to your enquiry and chat about next steps. If we’re a good fit and ready to go, I’ll let you know everything you need to get started with therapy. If there’s currently a waitlist, I’ll explain what that means and what you can expect from here.

STEP THREE

We’ll have our first session together and see if it feels like the right fit. I’ll talk you through what you can expect from therapy, and you can share as much of your story as you feel comfortable with. This session is really about getting to know each other, understanding what’s important to you, and developing some shared goals for our work together.

MEDICARE & ndis

MEDICARE

To have a session with me, you don’t need a mental health treatment plan (MHTP). What a mental health care plan from your GP or Psychiatrist does is give you a rebate of a portion of the session, for up to 10 sessions per calendar year.

To get a MHTP referral, book a double appointment with your GP and specify on the phone that it’s for a mental health care plan. This first plan will give you 6 rebated sessions, after which you’ll need to go back to your GP to get a re-referral, and further referrals are required along the way. If you currently have a referral, but another psychologists’ name is listed on this plan, you can still use this plan to access rebated sessions with me.

NDIS

Please note I am not registered with NDIS as a provider, however I have a number of NDIS clients who are self-managed. I am competent in completing the required yearly reviews, and often complete NDIS applications and reports for clients. Please alert me if you are an NDIS client when completing the contact form.
